Vampirism 101: Part II

“Er, speaking of which… it’s getting a little ‘late’. Beryl and I still need to take care of that. She hasn’t quite mastered the art of ’stealth’.”
I glowered at him, “How was I supposed to know the trashcan was empty?!”

“Byyyyeee!” Quinn grinned as I tried to coax her out the door.

“If you get bored with old Flossy here, gimme a call!”
“Quinn! Get!”
“All right, all right…”

As I watched Quinn walk away that night, a realization hit me. I’m not normally the type to sit and think and angst and all that… but this was different. This was important. Quinn accepted me. In fact, she acted like it was the most normal thing in the world. I began to realize what Christian had been telling me… and as much as I hated to admit it, and still hate to… he was right. This was for the best.
Because not only did I realize that my friendship with Quinn was true…

…But I was making a new friend in the process. Even if he is a jerk vampire with a funny accent. He did help me, after all… a complete stranger. So there has to be something halfway decent hiding in there. Like, really hiding. We’re talking Champion Hide and Seeker, here. On a scale of digging to the Earth’s core and finding the red hot magma. Oh yeah, it’s buried.

But I guess that’s the night I finally came to terms with what I was. A vampire. A creature of the night. A child of Nosferatu.
The pink hair, however? That’s an entirely different story.
